New York/Washington DC trip 2014

It has been close to 7 months since our last tour to San Francisco and it's time to take a break from work and a break from the countryside.

New York, the financial district of the world, is one of the biggest city in United States. Therefore, the streets are always busy and people are walking like they are running out of time. Their dress sense are more trendy unlike countryside Idaho and of course, the crowd here are pretty rowdy.

This is our fourth day in the city and we are enjoying the tour especially with Rajesh and Nisha which also brought more laughter to the holiday. For the past 3 days, we had enjoyed the most delicious food in New York at Maze resraurant, visited the tallest building after 9/11 incident, the Empire State Building ,partied at one of the most popular club in New York and cycled around the Central park. Really amazing! Everyday, we had walked at least 5 miles till our legs are extremely tired at night.

Today, we are going up north to Woodsbury Common Premium Outlet. The biggest factory outlet in the United States. I will update more on Maze Restaurant and other interesting places that we had visited. Stay tune!

Maze Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay

Everyone who watched Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Mastechef etc. will know this famous Michellin Star chef, Gordon Ramsay. Just before we set off to  New York, we did some research on the restaurants he owned and found Maze. Maze is a casual dining venue located at The London NYC. It took us 45 minutes to walk there and it could have been shorter if not for the crowded Time Square on the weekend.

Here are some reviews of the restaurant:

1. Food 5/5
Juliana and I ordered the famous Hell's Kitchen dish, the Beef Wellington with crispy Brussels sprouts and mushrooms as our main course while Rajesh and Nisha ordered Fish and Chips and Chicken Breast. For our appetizers, we ordered seared scallops, large crab cake and corn soup. Our appetizers were delicious! It's like a great trailer for a blockbuster movie. As for our main course, we loved it! The Beef Wellington was cooked perfectly! The middle of the Beef Wellington was cooked medium rare and it became more cooked at each layer. Rajesh and Nisha dish were also perfectly cooked. Well, the food was just awesome! After we had our main course, we ordered a cheese cake and a chocolate mousse cake. Both were equaly delicious but the portion was rather small. Maybe because we were sharing.

2. Service 4/5
Their service was outstanding! As we reached Maze 10 minutes earlier than our reservation, the waitress sat us at the lounge while they prepare our table. We waited for about 10 minutes before we were seated. All of them were very polite but the only losing point would be they let us waited a little too long to take our orders. But overall, it was a pleasant experience.

3. Price 4/5
It's pretty expensive but totally worthwhile. The desert portion is too small for us especially me.

P.S. Please standby for more pictures!

Happy 1st Anniversary

One year on since the day we said 'I Do'. The day we vow to love each other and take care of each other for the rest of our lives. The day we became man and wife.
I thanked Juliana for always being there for me. Though she might not do lots of housework and keep the house clean and tidy, she did the most important thing and that is to keep me happy and listen to my nagging.

Each day, our love grew stronger. Even though there might be small arguments, we learn more about each other. I thank Juliana for her patience. I can be pretty annoying at times due to my mini OCD.

Well, all I want to say is what the song played when the doors opened for my beautiful bride to walk onto the aisle and into my arms a year ago. "I just wanna love you. I just wanna kiss you. I just wanna love you all my life....."

Happy anniversary to my beautiful, humorous wife!
