This was my first time buying proposal ring and I have little knowledge about it. I do know a few jewellery dealers like Love & Co., Tiffany & Co., Lee Hwa Jewellery etc. which were often seen in any shopping malls. I was introduced to a few diamond warehouse dealers like Eclarity, Jann Paul etc. The reviews for these diamond warehouse dealers were pretty good, so I decided to visit them with Elmo (my cousin) and Kai (our friend).
Our first stop was Eclarity. It is located at:1 Scotts Road #16-12/13 Shaw Centre. It is recommended to make an appointment before going there as they might be busy entertaining customers who made appointments. The shop is considered small compared to those in the shopping malls but it was well-decorated. The people there were friendly and they served us swiftly after acknowledging our appointment. However, there is only one person who can serve us and her name is Amanda.( I think she is the lady boss over there) Amanda is very knowledgeable about diamonds and she spent about 20 mins educating us what we should look for when buying diamonds.
Here are some of the facts:
1. Diamond Size
2. Color
3. Cut
4. Clarity
According to her, the first two facts are the most important as they can be distinguished with a naked eye.
After spending about an hour of tutorial and narrowing down the availability of diamond rings based on our budget, we make a move without purchasing anything on the first appointment. There was no hard selling and Amanda was not pushy either. She was very patient in explaining and served her customers sincerely. Eventually, I went back to Eclarity to purchase my proposal ring. I'm totally satisfied with their customer service.
Rating:
1. Customer service: 9/10
2. Product: 10/10
3. Product Packaging (Ring box): 7/10
4. Ambiance: 8/10
5. Waiting time: Approx. 10 mins (depending how many customers are there)
Visit them on their website: http://www.eclarity.com.sg
We would like to share with people on the reviews of places like hotels, restaurants etc that we had experienced while we embark on our love journey.

12-Dec-2012 The Proposal
Six years passed. We had been through so much joy and pain. The toughest test was being apart for two years. I would have loved her to be with me while I worked but we're just too young to settle down. Near the end of 2011, Juliana flew over to the States for our mini honeymoon in California. Those moments were so enjoyable. We had so much fun!
Our holiday itinerary in California:
San Francisco ---> Los Angeles ----> San Diego ---> Las Vegas
When I returned to Singapore in May 2012, the only thought in my mind was to settle down with this beautiful lady in my life. I started to plan for my marriage proposal. My initial plan was to hold this special day on 10 Nov 12 (10-11-12, isn't it meaningful?). Besides, the initial plan was to play her a video in either a KTV lounge or a cinema. However, both didn't work out. As I had to re-plan everything, I decided to put the proposal at a later date which I found more meaningful! That was 12-Dec-12 (12-12-12).
My plan didn't exactly work as planned as the weather was pretty bad that day. We had to squeeze under a small umbrella while on our way to Fullerton Hotel. Dinner was awesome. (Argh! Didn't managed to take enough photos there to share with.) Plan A failed as weather prevented me from proposing in the restaurant by the riverside. Plan B soon got on its way as we left the hotel for a short walk along Boat Quay. While strolling, we were discussing about the movie Life of Pi by Ang Lee. At this moment, I took the opportunity to show her the "trailer" of Life of Pi. (She seemed annoyed at that time.)
Here's the "trailer":
Her answer is .........
YES. =)

28-Feb-2007 The Beginning
Walking down the stairs to her granny's house, I halted for a while. We were on the middle of the sixth and fifth floor, as my heart was thumping fast to ask her the important question. Having dated for a few months, my gut feeling told me that she was the right one. Outgoing, helpful, cheerful are some of the pros that attract me. Her close ties with her family especially towards her granny and parents suggests that she will be a wonderful wife and caring mother in future.
Hey! What's wrong? Why are you stopping?
Erm.. Nothing.. I have something to ask you. (Feeling a little nervous)
Oh.. What is it? she asked surprisingly
I paused for awhile before gathering some courage to 'pop' the question.
Can you be my girlfriend, Juliana?
Huh? What? she asked to confirm.
Can you be my girlfriend?
This time she blushed a little and smiled while leaning her back to the wall as I placed my hand on the wall like a bully confronting his victim.
Yes.
From then, our journey begins. We had been through so much ups and downs, joy and sorrow. We were even separated for about three years due to my work commitment. But it is love and bonding between us that kept our love going strong.
