Rajesh & Nisha's Wedding, 8 Sep 2013

First of all, we would like to congratulate Rajesh and Nisha, the newly wed. We had a wonderful evening at their wedding in Sri Mariamnam Temple. This was our first time attending an Indian traditional wedding and definitely our first time wearing the beautiful Indian traditional costumes. We are truly honored to be invited to their wedding.

The function room was beautifully decorated and almost everyone was dressed in the traditional Indian costume. There was a huge crowd consisted of different races. When we reached the entrance of the function room, we were greeted by Mr Shan, Rajesh's father, who is always cheerful and has a big heart. We were a little lost as we didm't know most of the people there. We proceeded to the function room by walking through the main door as friends and relatives of the newly wed sprinkled water from a golden bowl and gave us flowers. I believe those were to symbolize good luck. While making our way to the seat, a gorgeous woman greeted us and after startled for a few minutes, I realized she's Nisha's mum! She looked totally different that night with her hair bundled up nicely and she was wearing a stunning Sari.

While we were waiting anxiously for the ceremony to start, the newly wed's relative recommended us to take our dinner first as the ceremony will take about an hour. We took his recommendation and proceeded to the dining hall on the first floor. The food served which were all vegetarian consisted of Bryani rice, mock curries, papadams and other delicious traditional Indian dishes. Even though the dinner was vegetarian, the fragrance and the taste were awesome. We really enjoyed it. Apart from that, there was a photo booth set up for the guest to have a picture as a souvenir of the wedding. How wonderful!

After all the prayers by the priest, the newly wed sat on a couch in the center stage as the guests queued up to congratulate them. It was such a fantastic evening!  We wish the lovely couple to have a blissful marriage and have a baby soon!

P.S. One week to our ROM...
